The Mattie R. Johnson Foundation is founded on the vision and belief that every person has the right to be safe, free from violence and abuse, and empowered. In this belief, MRJ Foundation seeks to eliminate domestic violence.

The Mattie R. Johnson Foundation’s mission to assist victims and survivors of domestic violence, including emotional, economic, sexual, mental, and physical abuse. The foundation provides safe and affordable housing for a minimum of two years as survivors recover and engage in services to promote healing, self-sufficiency, empowerment, and safety. The MRJ foundation seeks to raise awareness and provide information to the community regarding domestic violence.

What we will Do:

  • Provide transitional housing for Domestic violence survivors.
  • Support and empowerment on their journey of healing and recovery
  • A combination of resources to promote healing and self-sufficiency would be accessible: Trauma-Informed Therapy, Basic Life Skills, Financial Literacy, Employment Training, Job Opportunities, Educational resources, as well as Child Care Support.
